Now that most students have to make a substantial financial
contribution to their higher education, Universities have
been required to present and market themselves in a different
way.
|
Today's
students are likely to evaluate their tertiary education
experiences by a range of criteria which include lifestyle
components as well as the effective delivery of their
academic courses. Increasingly, universities are trying
to gain a perspective into understanding who their students
are and where they live as well as the kind of services
they expect to see on campus.
Recent research projects have explored issues such as:
accommodation arrangements; commuting arrangements; ownership
of mobile phones; safety and security on campus; recreational
facilities required, expectations of university life.
